What is Stoneware?

To properly use our floor tiles besides the laboratory tests one must also consider where they will be used. The choice of tile must be carefully thought out.

The number you find in the PEI box near the name of each product GPS indicates one of five categories of uses. ABITARE has assigned each product
a classification on the basis of European EN standards, the results of laboratory testing on the products performed by the company research department and years of experience with these materials

Why Choose Stoneware

It is also extremely important to follow some standard maintenance and cleaning procedures to keep the beauty of the product unchanged in time. It is, therefore, extremely important to use mats of appropriate size located at suitable points so as to eliminate abrasive agents before they come into contact with the flooring. Finally, both during and after laying of the floor, while construction is still in progress, it is important to operate in such
manner as to eliminate any abrasives from the floor. This may be done either by cleaning or by applying some form of protection

All the products in this catalogue are highly sintered. Therefore, the usual dipping in water that normally precedes the laying is not necessary. It can anyway be carried out very quickly to remove from the tile back the
layer of dust that could jeopardize a correct adhesion, If the laying surface is wide, spaced expansion joints must be arranged at a distance of about 4 meters. Immediately alter the laying, clean carefully the floor, paying attention when the joint grouting is coloured.
